Anas Mohammad Shaikh serves as the Imam and Executive Director of the Islamic Organization of the Southern Tier.

He guides the community through worship, education, and pastoral care. A Ḥāfiẓ who memorized the Holy Qur’an by the age of eleven, he is a scholar of Islamic theology and law known for his expertise in community development and interfaith dialogue — actively promoting social justice and human rights.

Beyond the masjid, he has founded national initiatives that strengthen Muslim communities and support Imams across the United States.

A life of service & scholarship

Leadership & Advocacy

Anas Mohammad Shaikh has served as the Imam and Executive Director of the Islamic Organization of the Southern Tier since January 2013. He is known for his expertise in community development, Islamic theology, and interfaith dialogue, actively promoting social justice and human rights.

Scholarship & Education

He memorized the Holy Qur'an by the age of eleven. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Islamic Theology from Darul Uloom Al-Madania in 2008 and a Master's degree in Islamic Law & Finance from Darul Uloom Karachi. His studies encompass Arabic, Aqidah, Tafseer, Fiqh, Hadith, and Usool.

Community Service

His active collaborations include the Broome County Council of Churches, the Food Bank of the Southern Tier, and the Southern Tier Independence Center. He participates in the Binghamton University Interfaith Council and the Johnson City Interfaith Association.

National Impact

He founded the Imams Association of America to support professional development among Imams, and established Muslim Life of Binghamton, Inc. to support Muslim students at Binghamton University.

Philanthropy

He is a founding board member of the New York Chapter of A Continuous Charity, a volunteer for Kids With Vision, and a judge for the Muslim Interscholastic Tournament — while mentoring Young Muslims of America.

Mentorship

He founded KhutbahNotes.com, a free platform providing accessible khutbahs for Imams, and mentors Imams across the United States.

Personal Life

He resides in Vestal, New York, with his wife and six daughters. His hobbies include woodworking, sports, and family road trips.
